Cena hits a Super AA for another near fall to the shock and joy of the Alamodome. Styles comes back with the Styles Clash. Styles goes for the Phenomenal Forearm but Cena catches him and hits back-to-back AAs and wins his 16th world championship.

Styles counters the Figure Four with a cross arm breaker. Cena deadlifts Styles and connects with a modified powerbomb and we're back to an even matchup.

Cena ascends the turnbuckles and goes for a flying leg drop. Styles counters with a powerbomb followed by a Styles Clash for another nearfall. Styles goes for a springboard 450 But Cena blocks it with his knees. Cena hits a Canadian Destroyer for a nearfall. Styles catches a charging Cena and hits the ushigoroshi for a count of two.
Cena catapults AJ into the top turnbuckle followed by a cutter for a nearfall.

Cena had trouble catching his breath as Styles went on the offensive and kicked Cena's chest. Styles went for another kick but Cena countered with an electric chair facebuster. Cena and Styles strike back and forth as fans boo and yay accordingly. Styles slaps on the Calf crusher but Cena powers out and slaps on the STF.  Styles almost taps out but gets closer to the bottom rope. Cena drags Styles to the center of the ring and reapplies the hold.
Styles reverses the hold and slaps on an STF of his own. Cena rises up and prepares for an AA. Styles tries to get out of it and sits atop Cena's shoulders, but Cena shrugs him off and applies the Figure Four leg lock.

Cena starts up with shoulder tackles, but Styles counters with a hurricanrana. Cena battles back, driving Styles back first into the canvas and teasing the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Styles pops up and hits a German suplex followed by a wheelbarrow face buster for a two count. Dueling Cena-Styles chants start up.
Styles goes for a Phenomenal forearm but Cena dodges it and hits an AA for a nearfall. Cena followed up with a clothesline but gets another nearfall as he sells frustration.
Cena cuts off Styles' offense with a huge running clothesline. Cena smirks as he hits the Five Knuckle Shuffle and tries for a second AA. Styles escapes but Cena sets him up on the top rope. Cena lands a pair of right hands and tries for a super plex. Styles escapes again and slaps on the Argentine backbreaker rack followed by a spinout powerbomb for a nearfall.
Styles dodged a charging Cena and hit a Pele' kick. Styles followed up with a Phenomenal forearm for a nearfall.

Styles opens with a leg kick but Cena answers by tossing Styles into the corner. Styles explodes out of the corner the second time around with a back elbow. Styles follows up with a flying knee drop and connects with a roundhouse kick to Cena's back, followed by another flying knee.
Styles taunts Cena and charges him but Cena hits a back body drop. Cena tries for an early Attitude Adjustment but Styles lands on his feet and connects with an enzuigiri.
